Now folks, let me tell you this is a bungee tower! Standing 201 feet tall with a jump height of 171.5 feet above the shimmering pool below at 810 Circus Circus Drive, on the Las Vegas strip. This stand-alone bungee-jumping tower (with its 20 person, air-conditioned, single-stage hydraulic elevator to the jump deck above) is as unique a urban jump as you will ever find anywhere in the world. I should know, we (Bungee Masters, Adventure America Unlimited, Inc.) opened it on July 18, 1992 to the public for jumps and I got to do the first test jump from both sides of the jump platforms (now that was a thrill). The North and South jump platforms are 66 feet apart and were fabricated by D & D Welding in Eugene, Oregon, then trucked to Las Vegas where the 12,550 pounds of steel was raised and welded to the existing vertical tower. The tower itself was built by Thornton under contract to Sig Roguish back in 1968 as a rocket ship ride above the strip. The site still offers an incredible view of the strip, but nighttime really is the best time to jump; Las Vegas puts on an amazing light show!
Bungee Masters sold this tower to AJ's company in March of 1996 and it operates under the name AJ Hackett Bungy today. Give them a call when you are in Las Vegas.
TRIVIA ALERT! This 200-foot single-stage lift is the longest in the world. The second longest single-stage is in the 115-foot shaft inside the Statue of Liberty.
